The idea for SD Rocks N Stuff began in 2019 when the owner, Marco, was collecting fossils, crystals, and ocean artifacts. As his collection grew vast, Marco would periodically do a "show and tell" day at his work where he would show his collection. His favorite things to show were his Australian opals.

It was at this point one of Marco's coworkers asked him if he could make her a ring from one of his opals. With the support of his partner, Sarah, SD Rocks N Stuff was set in motion. Marco taught himself on how to make jewelry. He branched out into other gems; such as abalone, amethyst, and sea glass. The shop started on Etsy, then Instagram, and now events.
